The Answer to Healthier, Happier, Oral Maxillofacial & Plastic Surgery Patients

PhotoThis bag was designed for convenience and comfort for patients with facial and mouth surgeries who have a difficult time with oral care and eating. This product will also benefit patients after various dental procedures that have caused moderate to severe swelling related to incisions, sutures, or extractions.

These bags are designed to be squeezed instead of sucking, preventing pain, pressure, and new incisions from bleeding. Swishing fluid in a mouth in this condition can be challenging. Zip-N-Squeeze features a soft flexible catheter which allows patients to gently irrigate difficult to reach areas where a toothbrush temporarily cannot be used. This provides a convenient method for frequent mouth care - mix whatever solution is desired for use with this bag.

Swelling and pain make it difficult for patients to drink from a cup, and discharge instructions usually state that patients should avoid using straws. This bag works wonderfully when filled with broth, liquids, protein drinks, and thin shakes. The pleated bottom allows the bag to stand upright, the pinch clamp prevents spills, and the patented leak proof zipper will not rupture when pressure is applied.

As a registered nurse...

PhotoIn an acute care facility, I have participated in the recovery and care of many types of patients. Most often in a surgical setting. Over the years, I have observed the difficulty that certain types of maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction patients encounter when eating. Due to wired jaws, sutures, swelling or post-surgery pain, cups and straws often cannot be used. Most often a 60cc syringe and a cut off urinary catheter is used to "suck up" the liquid and is then squirted to the back of the patient's mouth. This method is awkward and requires two hands to control the pressure applied. Often the catheter becomes dislodged spilling the liquid. I designed this product because it is much easier to use and requires only one hand and a gentle squeeze from the patient. The bag features a leak-proof zipper top to prevent mess, and a flexible tubing which inserts easily into the mouth. A clamp on the tubing prevents spills.

This bag is also disposable, reducing the risk of bacterial contamination which is always a concern when the 6Occ syringes are reused by the patients. This is an excellent product for our maxillofacial patients as well as ENT and plastic surgery' patients. These bags promote better nutrition which is crucial for these patients to recover from surgery.
